D1 BANTAM 123cc 52mm X 58mm 2 Stroke
   
March 1948 Engine unit only Wipac generator with vertical HT lead.
June 1948 Alloy cylinder head, Amal carb, 3 speed integral gearbox, rigid frame with telescopic forks, 5" brakes, 17/8 gallon tank, direct lighting, valanced front mudguard, no fork gaiters, centre stand held up by clip, saddle, cable operated dip switch and flat silencer. Revised Wipac generator, exhaust pipe above footrest, fork gaiters, centre stand spring, optional plunger frame and Lucas battery electrics.
1950 D1 Competition introduced, as D1 but with raised saddle, blade mudguards, decompressor, tilted up exhaust and silencer optional plunger frame and Lucas battery electrics.
1951 Neater handlebar layout with new type horn button mounted on front brake lever pivot lug. Thumb operated dip switch.

Note letter 'A' after frame prefix indicates Wico Pacy battery set fitted.

1952 Wipac light switch in headlamp, new headstock gusset, strengthened centre stand.
1953 New big end with wider rollers, unsprung front mudguard with smaller valance, dual seat option. When fitted with AC lighting rear number plate incorporates stop and tail light. D1 Lucas battery option end.
1954 All D1 road models fitted with headlamp cowl, more fins on cylinder head and barrel tubular silencer.

D1 Competition strengthened front fork, larger front brake retains flat silencer.

August 1954 New pancake type rectifier.
November 1956 DD.4800 engine BD2.55000 frame last D1 Competition
September 1958 Positive oil feed to the engine main bearings, new big end with caged rollers.
August 1963 DD.168721, DDB. 18813 engine BD2S. 81299 frame D1 Bantam discontinued.
   
D3 BANTAM 148cc 57mm x 58mm 2 stroke
   
November 1953 D3 Bantam Major and D3 Competition introduced, similar to D1 Bantam and strengthened front forks. Plunger frame as standard on D3 Bantam Major but optional on D3 Competition, larger front brake, tubular silencer for D3 Bantam Major and flat silencer for D3 Competition.
September 1954 New pancake type rectifier.
November 1955 BD3.10400 engine BD2.55000 frame last D3 Competition.
1956 D3 Bantam Major swinging arm frame, long tapered easily dismantled silencer, dual seat as standard, direct or battery lighting.
November 1957 CD3.27127 frame D3 Bantam Major discontinued.
   
D5 BANTAM 173cc 61.5mm x 58mm 2stroke
December 1957 D5 Bantam Super introduced, 3speed swinging arm frame, 5" brakes 18" x 3.00 tyres, 2 gallon tank, dual seat, direct or battery lighting.
November 1958 FD5.8321 frame D5 Bantam Super discontinued.
   
D7 BANTAM 173cc 61.5mm x 58mm 2 stroke
   
November 1958 D7 Bantam Super introduced, as D5 but new frame, hydraulically damped front forks, cast iron hubs, 51/2" brakes, positive feed to engine main bearings, deeper mudguards, raised handlebars, cover over generator, headlamp nacelle, direct or battery electrics.
September 1961 ED7. 4501 engine D7.27450 frame needle roller little end bearing instead of plain bush, new dual seat.
September 1963 Magnetic speedometer, new silencer.
September 1964 Modified gearbox and big end roller cage.
November 1964 FD7.4705 engine D7.44278 frame D7 Bantam De Luxe introduced, as D7 Bantam Super but with rectified lighting and coil ignition, new petrol tank with chrome panels, new dual seat, improved handlebar layout with ball ended levers.
August 1965 D7.49854 frame D7 Bantam Super discontinued.
September 1965 D7 Bantam De Luxe, new carburettor, no midsection metalwork under seat.

FD7.10127 engine D7.51320 frame D7 Silver Bantam as D7 Bantam De Luxe but with silver painted rather than chromed panels.

July 1966 GD7.8616 engine and frame D7 De Luxe and D7 Silver Bantam discontinued.
   
D10 BANTAM 173cc 61.5mm x 58mm 2 stroke
   
July 1966 D10 Bantam Supreme similar to D7 Bantam De Luxe but with modified engine with higher compression, larger carburettor, contact breaker moved to right hand side of engine, Wipac 60 watt alternator, 4 instead of 3 plate clutch, 3speed gearbox, headlamp nacelle.
August 1966 D10 Bantam Silver similar to D7 Silver Bantam but with same engine modifications as D10 Bantam Supreme

D10 Bantam Sports, 4 speed gearbox, sports handlebars and dual seat, full width hubs, high level exhaust, separate headlamp shell, sports fly screen, chrome plated exposed rear suspension springs.

November 1966 D10 Bantam Bushman, cross country machine similar to D10 Bantam Supreme but with 4 speed low ratio gearbox, high ground clearance frame, cross country tyres, engine under shield and upswept exhaust.
December 1967 D10 Silver, Supreme, Sports and Bushman discontinued,
   
D14/4 BANTAM 173cc 61.5mm x 58mm 2 stroke
   
October 1967 D14/4 Supreme similar to D10 Bantam Supreme but with modified engine with higher compression, 4 speed gearbox, larger exhaust pipe.
December 1967 D14/4 Sports as D10 Bantam Sports but with engine modifications as D14/4 Supreme, heavier front forks with gaiters and front brake plate with torque arm.

D14/4 Bushman as D10 Bantam Bushman but with modifications as D14/4 Sports.

October 1968 D14/4 Supreme, Sports and Bushman discontinued.
   
B175 173cc 61.5mm x 58mm 2 stroke
   
April 1969 D175 Bantam introduced as D14/4 supreme with modified engine, cylinder head with central spark plug, stiffer crankshaft, stronger front forks with rubber gaiters, offset hubs, separate headlamp and exposed rear suspension springs.

D175 Bushman as D14/4 Bushman with modifications as in D175 Bantam.

November 1969 PD.04204.D175 engine and frame improved carburettor, front fork legs hard chromed and smaller ignition coil.
March 1971 D175 Bantam and D175 Bushman discontinued
