A7
1947-50  All painted parts either black (7) or Devon red (34), this including frame, forks, oil tank, battery carrier, chainguard and mudguards. Petrol tank chrome plated with black panels (17) lined in gold or Devon red panels (12) gold lined. Wheel rims chrome plated with either black or Devon red centres gold-lined. Chrome-plated headlamp rim, handlebars, tank cap, brake backplates, battery strap, fork oil seal holders and exhaust system.
1951 As 1947 all in black or with petrol tank panels alone in Devon red (12).
1951-52  Due to nickel shortage chrome plating restricted so tank finished in matt silver with red or black panels gold lined. Painted brake backplates, otherwise as 1947 in black.
1953  All painted parts in maroon (37). Petrol tank maroon with chrome-plated side panels lined gold (36) and carrying new tank badges. Wheel rims chrome plated and laced to maroon hub (41). Chrome plating as 1947.
1954-55  As 1953 except round tank badges for both plunger and pivoted-fork models. Chrome- plated front brake backplate, painted rear .
1956-57  As 1955 except for alloy hubs and backplates. Black option available.
1958-59  Black frame, forks, chainguard, hubs, hub cover plate centre and brake backplate centre. Rims of last two polished (21). Princess grey (102) mudguards, mudguard stays, oil tank, toolbox, air cleaner box and petrol tank, which has chrome-plated side panels double lined red. Chrome-plated wheel rims, headlamp rim, fork oil seal holders, handlebars and exhaust system. Black option available.
1960-62  Finish as 1958 in black (7) and Devon red.(34) for mudguards, stays, oil tank, toolbox and air cleaner box with the petrol tank Devon red with chrome-plated side panels (142). Option in black with black and chrome tank (120). Devon red also referred to as fuchsia red in 1960-61 and royal red in 1962. Pear-shaped tank badges.
A7 STAR TWIN
1949-51  Generally as 1947 A7 in black. Petrol tank chrome plated with matt silver panels lined red (19) and wheel rims chrome plated with matt silver centres lined red (19).
1951-52  As 1949 except tank all matt silver with panel outline in red. Painted brake backplates.
1953-54   Frame dark green (40). Mudguards, forks, chainguard, oil tank and toolbox metallic green (39). Petrol tank metallic green with chrome- plated side panels lined dark green (38). Wheel rims chrome-plated and laced; to dark green hubs (42). Chrome-plated headlamp rim, backplates.  Round plastic tank badges.
A7 SHOOTING STAR
1954-55  As 1953 A7 Star Twin except rear brake backplate painted dark green (38).
1956-57  As 1954 except for alloy hubs and backplates. 1958--62 In style of 1958 A7 with metallic green (30) in place of princess grey. No air cleaner and tank as before (38}. No options. From 1960 pear- shaped tank badges.
A10 GOLDEN FLASH
1950 All painted parts black (7) or polychromatic silver beige (24) as for.1947 A7. Petrol tank. chrome plated with black panels lined gold ( 17) or beige panels lined red (26). Wheel rims chrome plated with black centres lined gold (17) or beige centres lined red (26). Chrome plated as A7. Round winged BSA tank badge with 'Golden Flash' motif.
1951-52  As 1950 except tank all beige with panel outlined. Painted brake backplates.
1953 As 1950 except petrol tank black or beige with chrome-plated side panels lined gold or red. Wheel rims chrome plated and laced to black (44) or beige (43) hubs. 
1954-55 As 1953 except painted rear brake backplate. 
1956-57  As 1954 except for alloy hubs and backplates for swinging arm model.
1958-59  In style of 1958 A7 with black (7) or beige (24) in place of princess grey. Round .plastic tank badge
1960-63  As for 1958 in black or beige plus option in Nutley blue (88) for mudguards, oil tank, toolbox and air cleaner box. Petrol tank in black and chrome (120), beige and chrome with double red lining (26) or blue and chrome (146). Pear-shaped tank badges. Blue also referred to as sapphire blue.
A10 ROAD ROCKET
1954-55  Black frame, forks, hubs, oil tank, toolbox, headlight shell and chainguard. Petrol tank matt silver with chrome-plated side panels lined red (19) or bright red with chrome-plated side panels lined gold (78) or green and chrome. Chrome-plated wheel rims, mudguards, mudguard stays, headlamp rim and exhaust systems.
1956-57  As 1954 except alloy hubs.
A10 SUPER ROCKET
1958  Generally as 1958 A7. First colour option had mudguards red with black oil tank and toolbox and petrol tank red with gold-lined, chrome- plated side panels. Second option was silver sheen for mudguards, oil tank and toolbox with petrol tank to match in silver with double red-lined, chrome-plated panels.
1959  As 1958.
1960  As 1958 in revised colours. First with royal red petrol tank with gold-lined, chrome-plated side panels (109), royal red mudguards (27) and black (7) oil tank and toolbox. Second with black and chrome (120) petrol tank and black for all other painted parts. Third with metallic grey petrol tank with chrome-plated side panels (127) and metallic princess grey (102) for oil tank, toolbox and mudguards. Pear-shaped tank badges.
1961-63  As 1960 except no all-black option.
A10 ROCKET GOLD STAR
1962-63  Black frame, fork legs, oil tank, toolbox and headlamp shell. Chrome-plated wheel rims when in steel, headlamp rim, exhaust system, mudguards, chainguard and fork top shrouds. Petrol tank matt silver with chrome-plated side panel lined red and round Gold Star badges.
